The 70 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Jamnagar is a significant infrastructure project commissioned by the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation. This facility is designed to enhance wastewater management and improve environmental conditions in the region. The STP utilizes advanced treatment technology, specifically the Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) system, which is known for its efficiency in treating sewage.

Key components of the STP include a primary treatment unit and a splitter box, which are essential for the initial stages of sewage processing. The SBR tank, measuring 100 meters by 90 meters with a water depth of 6 meters, is divided into eight compartments, allowing for effective sequential treatment of wastewater. Additionally, the plant features a CCT (Circular Clarifier Tank) with dimensions of 50 meters in length, 23 meters in width, and 3 meters in height, which aids in clarifying treated water.

To manage sludge effectively, the facility includes a sludge thickener with a diameter of 27 meters and a water depth of 3.5 meters, along with a sludge sump for further processing. Supporting infrastructure includes a motor control center (MCC) room, an administrative building, and staff quarters to accommodate personnel working at the facility.

The construction of this project has been undertaken by ESSAR, a well-known contractor in the industry.
