Lower Indera, Odisha

The 10.25 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Lower Indera, Odisha, is a significant infrastructure project aimed at improving the region’s water supply and treatment capabilities. Constructed by L&T, this facility is equipped with essential components designed to ensure efficient and effective water treatment processes.

The plant features a cascade aerator, which plays a crucial role in the initial aeration of raw water, enhancing the removal of impurities. It includes two clarifiers, each designed to facilitate the sedimentation process, allowing suspended solids to settle and producing clarified water. The filter house is an integral part of the facility, houses multiple filter beds that ensure thorough filtration of treated water.

Additional infrastructure includes a chemical house for managing treatment chemicals, a wash recovering sump for efficient water reuse, and an Intze type elevated storage tank (ESR) specifically designed for backwashing operations. The inclusion of a sludge sump further supports the management of sludge generated during the treatment process.

Our firm has provided comprehensive structural consultancy services for this project, ensuring that all components meet safety standards while optimizing operational efficiency. The 10.25 MLD WTP at Lower Indera is poised to enhance public health and support sustainable development by ensuring reliable access to treated drinking water for the local community.
