The UHT Plant for Milky Mist, located in Erode, Coimbatore, is a cutting-edge facility with a built-up area of 2.73 lakh sq. ft. This advanced plant is designed to support the production of a wide range of dairy products, including UHT milk (3.2 LLPD), chocolate (30 TPD), ice cream (1.5 LLPD), and sweetened condensed milk (40 TPD). The facility also features dedicated silo areas and extensive storage provisions for raw materials and finished goods.

A unique highlight of this project is its -25°C ice cream ASRS storage facility, an automated system for efficient and large-scale ice cream storage, ensuring quality preservation and streamlined operations. Additional infrastructure includes a refrigeration plant, a dry storage facility, and a dedicated table margarine storage area, supporting the plant’s versatile operations. The site posed significant challenges due to the level difference between ground levels of the existing plants and the new UHT building. This difference was ingeniously utilized to reduce the cost of filling and grading. Furthermore, the site’s hard rocky terrain made excessive cutting and filling impractical, necessitating meticulous design and execution to ensure the facility’s optimal layout and functionality.

One of the plant’s most distinctive features is its porch with slanted columns and grand stairs, offering a direct and striking entrance to the first floor. This architectural element not only enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal but also highlights its functional design innovation. We provided comprehensive services for this project, including tendering, architectural planning of each unit, structural design, as well as plumbing and fire protection systems. The plant stands as a testament to Milky Mist’s commitment to technological advancement and efficient production processes, solidifying its reputation as one of India’s largest private dairy players.
