The Cattle Feed Factory (CFF) at Kapadwanj, Gujarat, is a greenfield project developed for the AMUL Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. Cattle feed production plays a crucial role in the dairy industry by ensuring that livestock receives balanced nutrition necessary for optimal milk production and overall health. The introduction of this new cattle feed factory in Kapadwanj will enhance Amul’s ability to provide quality feed to dairy farmers in the region, ultimately supporting increased milk productivity and improving the livelihoods of local farmers. The facility is designed to have a production capacity of 2,000 MT per day and occupies a total site area of 108,500 square meters, with a built-up area of 46,500 square meters.
Given the space-intensive nature of cattle feed production, which requires significant storage for various raw materials, the factory layout is planned in a linear manner to optimize space. At the center of the facility stands the main plant, constructed from reinforced cement concrete (RCC) and reaching a height of 46 meters.
On one side of the main plant, there are 48 fully automated flat storage bins, each with a capacity of 400 MT, leading to a total storage capacity of 19,200 MT. On the opposite side, a conventional godown with a self-supporting round roof is planned, providing an additional capacity of 19,000 MT. Furthermore, four grain silos with a capacity of 400 MT each are included on the front side, with future provisions for another four silos. Additionally, the facility will feature two molasses tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 MT, as well as a boiler house for power generation and a utility building to manage power and other utilities such as hot and cold water. Common facilities such as a canteen building and driver restroom are also planned to support the operational needs of the factory.
