The IIT Hyderabad project encompasses a total built-up area of 800,000 square feet, featuring three distinct buildings: the Sports and Culture Complex, the Technology Incubation Park, and the Convention Center. Each structure is designed to meet specific functional requirements while showcasing innovative architectural solutions.

The SNCC Sports and Culture Complex boasts India’s largest RCC folded plate structure, with an impressive span of 49 meters. This large span design eliminates the need for intermediate columns, allowing for the construction of various sports courts beneath. Additional features include a secondary folded plate structure with spans of 35 meters, an open amphitheater, and a fitness center furnished with a flat slab, all contributing to a dynamic recreational environment.

The Technology Incubation Park consists of a large building divided into 11 blocks, each separated by expansion joints. The stories of these blocks vary from Ground Floor + 2 stories to Ground Floor + 4 stories, providing flexible spaces for innovation and collaboration among startups and researchers.

The Convention Center is an expansive facility segmented into seven interconnected blocks, also separated by expansion joints. Its elevation is characterized by diverse curved cantilevers, with a total of 36 different cantilevers designed with varying radii and spans, some extending up to 9 meters.

Our firm provided structural consultancy for this remarkable project, navigating significant design complexities and architectural requirements. By integrating advanced engineering techniques with innovative design, we have contributed to creating an environment that fosters learning, innovation, and community engagement at IIT Hyderabad. This project not only enhances the educational infrastructure but also sets a precedent for future developments in academic environments across India.
