The Intake Well at Hafeshwar is a significant infrastructure project located in the reservoir of the Sardar Sarovar, contributing to the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board’s mission to enhance water accessibility. This state-of-the-art facility features a 20-meter diameter intake well, complemented by a 13-meter-high pump room topped with a circular gantry, ensuring efficient water extraction and management. This intake well is supported by 20 robust piles, each reaching a height of 37 meters, which are constructed within the reservoir provides stability and durability.

Equipped with eight vertical turbine pumps, each weighing 15 metric tons, the intake well is designed to handle substantial water flow while maintaining operational efficiency. A crucial component of this project is the steel bridge connecting the intake well to the pump room, spanning 213 meters in length and 6 meters in width.
